TOP THINGS TO DO AND TO SEE IN LAS VEGAS
Hidden Gems in the City that Never Sleeps
The hardest part of planning a trip to Las Vegas is whittling down your list of must-see sites and experiences. With hundreds of diversions at every turn and amazing activities for couples, solo travelers, families and even children, it can be hard to decide what to do first. If you are planning a trip to Las Vegas, you might want to put the more well-known activities and sites on the back burner and check out the hidden gems first. Here are some lesser known but exceptional things to see and do in Las Vegas.
Explore an Artificial Reef
You might not expect a real ocean reef in the middle of the Nevada desert, but Las Vegas is great at the unexpected. The Silverton Aquarium is one of the best in the world, with an artificial reef of more than 110,000 gallons and more than 4,000 tropical fish. There are also sharks and stingrays, making the Silverton Aquarium a favorite with families and children.
Go to the Circus
Again, a trip to the circus may not seem like something that belongs in Las Vegas, but it is here nonetheless. You can watch the live circus action at the Circus Circus casino, check out the clowns and acrobats and even get some circus tips from the pros. The kids love Circus Circus, but you will find plenty of happy adults here too.
Take a Celebrity Selfie
Las Vegas is a popular place with celebrities, but they are never around when you need them. Instead of waiting for a famous actor or singer to wander by, just head over to the famous Madame Tussauds Interactive Wax Museum. Once there, you can take all the selfies you want, and the lifelike wax sculptures could be enough to fool your friends back home.
Sip a Margarita
You will find plenty of alcohol in Las Vegas, and you can score some free drinks while you play the slots or try your luck at the tables. But if you want one of the best margaritas in town, just head down to the Flamingo and belly up to the bar at Margaritaville.
Check Out a Vegas Landmark
The sign welcoming visitors to Las Vegas has been seen in countless movies and TV shows, and now it can take center stage in your own photographs. Located just south of Mandalay Bay, this iconic sign is the perfect backdrop for your vacation photographs. Your friends back home will be so jealous.
Ride a Zipline
If you are looking for a real thrill, check out the aptly-named Slotzilla, an urban zipline that whisks adventure seekers along famous Fremont Street. When you get back on solid ground, be sure to stick around for the famous Fremont Street Experience, a one-of-a-kind light and music extravaganza that has been thrilling visitors for decades.
Dine with Picasso
The patio restaurant at the Bellagio is a popular place to be, largely because of its spectacular views of the dancing fountain show. Make your reservations early at the Picasso, and get ready to enjoy the show – and some fine food.
Enjoy a Drink at the Top of the World
The Stratosphere Tower is famous for its spectacular 360-degree views of the Las Vegas Strip, but the observation deck is not the only place to see the city. Lounge 107 is well known for its wonderful martinis, and for its views from the top of the tower.
Check Out Some Sweet Rides
You will see plenty of fancy cars prowling the streets of Las Vegas, but you can see hundreds of them in one place at the LINQ Hotel and Casino. The Auto Collection encompasses more than 250 historic vehicles, a dream come true for any automotive aficionado.
The city of Las Vegas is filled with wonderful things to do and see, including some hidden gems many casual visitors miss. The items on our list are all great ways to start your visit, and once you are here, you will find plenty of other ways to keep yourself entertained and occupied.
